I recently graduated from Southern Connecticut State University on May 17th 2012, and had the honor of being the Graduate Commencement Speaker. For a copy of the speech and upcoming projects please go to my new site listed above.
My passion for fitness has inspired me to pursue a life helping others achieve their goals through personal training and fitness consulting.My commitment comes from a sincere appreciation and love for life through discipline, education, diversity and adventure. Everyday has the potential for greater progress towards our goals in fitness and personal endeavors. Just as in any ambition, true fitness is a step by step process with each element having an importance and a place in reaching success-the key elements being patience, consistency, and persistence. I have worked in the fitness industry for ten years at various locations, and am currently AFAA certified. My workouts include a variety of methods including medicine and stability ball training, pilates, plyometics, resistance, kickboxing and cardiovascular training. Mostly my love for fitness and personal training is fueled by a genuine love for people.
Currently, I am a graduate Research Fellow at Southern Connecticut State Univerisity in the English Department. I am graduating this spring with an MS in English, and I was recently accepted into the MA graduate program in Women's Studies at SCSU starting in the fall. I am also founding a wellness retreat for women to be launched this summer. I think the art of writing and public speaking is a tremedous way to not only exercise my brain, but also reach out to others- along with my constant fascination with human beings, their dynamic interaction and global connectivity. In addition to my workout blog, I am working on incorporating webpages that focus on health, wellness and motivational articles for my readers. I have been working with people for most of my life, and I know how just alittle bit of connection through knowledge can give anyone that additional boost to keep going. Topics will include:
